I don't know what triggers it but there is no need to remove the nest. I assume you clean the cage weekly so just wait until the next time you are cleaning it. I got worried the first time I saw it because I didn't know what it was. If you want to know what triggers it you should call a vey and ask someone there. They will know the correct answer and it will only cost you a phone call. If there is anything else that concerns you about your rabbit maybe write them down and ask while you are on the phone.

False pregnancy can be triggered by a number of things. It can be triggered by another rabbit mounting the doe and not actually breeding her. This can even be another doe that mounts her.

It can also be a result of increased hormone levels.

Or it can be due to a new situation such as moving her.

I normally wait a week just in case the rabbit might have actually been bred. Sometimes the rabbit might have babies as much as a week later.

If you know for sure it is a false pregnancy you can pull it out right away.

A rabbits being pregnant lasts 31 days, in case you acquire her interior the final 31 days then i might assume she is pregnant and take each and every of the precautions. provide her a shoebox lined with shavings and full of hay to make her nest in. in case you probably did no longer get her interior the final 31 days then she isn't pregnant, fake pregnancys are incredibly person-friendly for the time of the summer time.
