If people are going to work in jobs that require them to talk with the public, they do need to be fluent in the English language. There is nothing wrong with hiring people who have immigrated her legally and want a job, but they should know how to speak the language if they are dealing with the public.

If I were you I would really be annoyed! And who would think that coke is a sprite. Besides if you look at the top you could tell because of the kind of color it has.

Hon welcome to the new USA Corporate world. All of them are hiring from India and similar countries. I am a pharmacist and I used to work for Walgreens, they use to go to Canada and hire Indian pharmacist with the promise of a visa. What bothered me is that they could barely speak English and do not know our laws!! If you want to take your health into your own matters go ahead go to Walgreens.

It's fast food. Not really a life or death situation. If immigrants weren't working, wouldn't that be a bigger complaint. I think that McD's is a great place to improve their English, and learn basic customer service skills. Maybe we could all stand to be a bit more tolerant!

Did she give you a sprite. No, I don't think so. Stop being a spoiled brat over a stupid soda name. Everybody needs a job. Plus, it wasn't like she was being rude.

Oh wow. You have quite a variety to your questions.
But it does get annoying sometimes. I feel only English fluent people should become cashiers.

Who cares what she calls it as long as she gave you what you wanted. Not every American aspires to work at Mac Donald's so someone has to do the job.

There's a Muslim woman who works at the Tim Hortons near my school. There may be a slight language barrier, but she does good work. I say, keep 'em.
