I kinda think most of the current studios create their animations without any depth. Personally, I favor Production IG.

I am in agreement with the many who have already said "Studio Bones" , though Gonzo comes a very close second.
Look at their track record:
Full Metal Alchemist
Wolf's Rain
Cowboy Bebop
Scrapped Princess
Ouran High School Host Club
Eureka Seven
Samurai Champloo
And they've just picked up Skull Man.
I buy things from Studio Bones sight-unseen, because I -know- it's going to be good.

In terms of quality, Studio Ghibli is by far the best. Just look at how detailed and fluid the animation is, easily matches anything Disney has ever done (Even Disney haters have to acknowledge their attention to detail)
Although, if wew only mentioned TV series, I'd go with Gonzo due to consistency, followed by Kyoto Animation.

As of now you cannot help but mention Studio Bones, Gonzo and Production I.G as they have really been hitting it big as of late, and believe me I love those companies as well, But for me I favor J.C Staff, Kyoto Animation, and Anime International Company.

Production I.G. has excellent quality, however, Studio Bones and Kyoto Animation are doing excellent work, as is J.C. Staff.

Tegen Toppa Gurren Lagann - action, mecha, humor, super robot Afro Samurai - action, sci-fi, samurai, futuristic Visions of Escaflowne - shoujo, swordplay, mecha, parallel universe, drama, romance Darker than black season 1 and 2 - action, drama, mystery, post-apocaliptic, angst Neo Genesis Evangelion - mecha, sci-fi, action, drama, angst apocaliptic, --> It's a classic. The plot is dense, filled with religious references and philosophical concepts, the characters are psychologically complex and the fights are intense, sometimes gory. This one isn't japanese, but it's a very good series: Avatar: the last airbender --> awesome fights, good plot, likable characters, a nice touch of humor and a nice touch of romance. But the best part it that the story doesn't have downturns, it only gets better and better.

Hi Mr Griffin. I prefer Youmuri Sunrise, VIZ, and Kyoto Animation. My favorite show is Inuyasha.

I like Gonzo. They do a wide variety of anime shows and always dare to take on risks like Afro Samurai.

For me its Kyoto Animation, and GONZO
I also like CoMix Wave, for they excellent work with Makoto Shinkai
