Why can't they wear nice colours, Condolezza does from time to time.

Well black, gray, and navy blue have makes women look professional and those colors are for business, and men take women more seriously if women dress seriously.

Color is very important. Black and navy blue are power colors. People take women more seriously when wearing those dark colors, compared to a red color. Green is a great color when applying for a loan, because it makes you look like you are good with money.

I guess those colors just are power seekers. We seek respect. Since it's hard for women to be taken seriously, even now, in the business world, I guess we just do everything in our power to make us seem as commanding, sophisticated, and educated as possible.
Sure, sometimes we wear a colorful shirt under our suits.

For the same reasons most businessmen wear those colors. It makes them look more professional and businesslike. If they take too many chances with wearing different colors or clothing styles, it can make them seem like they are not as committed to their careers.

They are just classic colors to wear. Imagine if you were in a meeting and your boss who was a woman walked in the meeting with a bright pink suit on I mean BRIGHT pink. You would be like what the....... It's just a common color and it looks nice and professional.
