Everything wrapped up in one. He writes the lyrics to be very vague so that you can put yourself in his shoes, which makes the songs seem personal. His riffs are alright- they are like the sauce on pasta- they hold it all together and can be spicy at times, but mostly you look forward to eating the meatballs (Kirk's licks). His vocals are ever changing. I think I may have liked them a bit better before all the vocal lessons because it felt more raw. I dunno... I really appreciate the person that I see in concert and see in interviews. He seems like everyone else, and seems pretty straight forward. He has his ups and downs and shares that through his talents. I love his appreciation of the fans- it seems very sincere.

He's always felt like family to me because I've "known" him since the band first went on tour w/ Ozzy back in the 80s. Metallica is such a part of my every day life. Without them ( old OR new schtuff), I'd feel kinda empty. C'mon... everyone has a relative that gets old and is a bit annoying at times ( kinda how many people feel about their last albums.) But ya know what? You STILL love that relative and show them respect. It's the same with Metallica. There is always hope that their latest album will rock. I'll hear it out. If not... well... there's always that old album to fall back on and listen to a few times a month. lol

I like the riffs, and song writing. The lyrics have always been fairly childish, or ghoulish (some are good of course).
