Ive owned honda's & Acura's & haven't had any repair done to it except for basic maintenance. Honda are great cars but my sister has a 2005 BMW and it always needs some kind of repairs...

Both cars are extremely reliable. The BMW has higher maintenance cost while the Honda is cheap in repairs. For the Hondas, parts can easily be swapped between most models.
If you want a car that you can easily tune and customize at low costs go with a Honda. If you want to customize a vehicle that you rarely see customized on the road go with a BMW.
Besides that point, I now own a BMW (love it and yes it is "The Ultimate Driving Experience") and my wife has the Honda. I still love Hondas for their ease of maintenance costs and easier to customize, but I ultimately enjoy and love my BMW more.
You can test drive them both, but each is in a class of it's own. First figure what your budget is. Think of everything to include, repair costs, insurance, gas, etc. Don't just go by car price.
In the long run, you will be happy with whatever you choose.
By the way, my wifes honda has a little over 300,000 miles on it and it still runs great.
PS
No car is better than the other, since they are each in a different class. If you were to compare something like that compare the Acura to BMW since Acura has been considered in the same luxury class as BMW. Good luck on your choice.

If somebody advised me I had to p.c. between a Honda and BMW i does not supply it a 2d. BMW of path, palms down. i've got pushed a 2012 totally loaded accord and 2012 BMW. Honda felt so low priced and "totally loaded" replaced into with regard to the comparable in a 2002 BMW. trypersistent the two and you will make up your suggestions very directly. German autos are made for exciting and velocity mutually as Asian autos are made for element a to b with reliability. it extremely is all. For the checklist BMW coverage is in basic terms intense on 2 doorways or activity fashions. I even have owned older ones- 01 civic and 02 BMW and civic replaced into extra as a results of much less risk-free practices effective factors.

The question is which one is better car? Honda is more forgiving than reliable. You still need to replace bunch of filters every 30,000 miles. If you don't, Honda will still go another 30,000. no problem. If you do that to BMW, it will choke and would cost you more in the long run.
BMW is simply best handling car. Period.
They are both easy to work on. I find that BMWs are much easier to work on than Honda. However, special tools are more expensive than Honda and is more expensive.
Driving BMW in winter, you want to get set of snow tires because most BMWs are rear wheel drive. Honda cars are front wheel driven so don't usually need snow tires (but I do use them anyway)

This is the asshole in me coming out, but here it is. The reputation of a BMW, both image and automotive, blow Honda out of the water. Even comparing dated models that have little or no value, it is easy to see the craftmanship and creativity that BMW has as opposed to honda. While they are reliable, honda offers little more. When driving down the road, you'll be assumed very boring and uninspired. I know this is a huge generalization, but I have been around BMW since a child and there is nothing else like it in the world. Honda puts care into their mechanics, which is incredibly positive, but thats more or less the only place. BMW designs and crafts every inch of their vehicles...however you pay for it as well. As with any car, as long as you maintain it properly, your BMW will last forever and you will have a more enjoyable experience as well.
good luck making your decision and PLEASE make the right one
ps- Hondas are gas powered Ambien

I personally prefer Hondas and when I read the ratings I don't see why I should pay the prices asked by BMW. It's a high end car but in the long run doesn't offer that much more than a Honda. When I matched up the various aspects of both cars there doesn't appear to much difference-at least not a $30,000 difference.

ahk and david are both correct. The answer depends on what you value. If you value dependability and low cost of ownership, then Honda is the right car for you. If you are more of a car person, like to learn about cars, engineering, how things works, maintenance and repairs, etc., then the BMW is the better car for you. BMWs have higher costs of ownership - higher insurance, higher costs for body parts after accidents, higher costs for parts and labor, etc. You need to spend more time taking care of a BMW - sometimes you need a well-trained BMW specialist for electrical systems and other systems like air conditioning. Parts for BMWs are not as readily available as mainstream cars, especially when it comes to aftermarket parts. BMWs are for car enthusiasts who appreciate the car enough to make numerous sacrifices to keep it running well. Hondas are for everyday drivers who don't want to do much else than drive the car and keep costs and downtime low. To a BMW driver and enthusiast, a Honda owner bragging about the reliability of their car means nothing to them.

Its like comparing an orange to an apple, not a fair comparison. Both have their pros and cons in terms of Handling, ride comfort, performance, price and status symbol .... So after all, it all depend on what you want. If you think status symbol is most important and willing to pay more, go for the BMW. If you want better value for money and cheaper maintenance and repair cost, then Honda will be a better choice. Both are equally reliable, handles well and great performer.

are you in the market for a new or pre-owned BMW? if you can afford to purchase pre-owned BMW then I rather purchase brand new Honda which makes better sense. Brand new Honda will give you peace of mind of owning a reliable, low maintaince vehicle with fairly reasonable re-sell value. Owning a BMW, new or pre-owned is nice but you will spend more money for any maintainence cost, repair cost and overall cost of ownership...plus, some BMW require premieum gasoline ONLY...
