I think it's their right to feel however they want......just like it's a gay person's right to be gay. And no, I don't think that everyone who is "homophobic" is just secretly hiding their homosexual tendencies...lol. I think some people just honestly don't like the lifestyle.....

I think that a person who is homophobic might be afraid of the possiblity of him being gay or being afraid that he might be turned into a gay guy. If a person is gay, they're naturally gay since childhood, they're simply afraid that their friends or family might not accept them. There's nothing wrong with it, I mean we should value and respect them for who they are, that doesn't make them abnormal or imhumane. We can't all be the same, if we were it would be a pretty darn boring life. If your friend is gay sooner or later he will accept himself for who he is but until then it's pretty much up to him. Just leave him alone but assure him that you still love him as a friend no matter what. I think real men aren't afraid of having gay friends and they aren't even afraid of wearing pink, there's nothing wrong. I think it's wrong to label children from birth by saying pink is for girls and blue for boys. Their babies how would they know that colors matter in this world or sexual preferences. If I ever have a little girl she'll be wearing blue, that's my favorite color. If I have a boy why not put him pink, he's a baby, they're innocent, ignorant people make these innocent babies ignorant as well by telling them "oh no he's gay he wears pink." What do kids know, Teach them right and they'll know better.

It could be that they have some secret homosexual tendencies themselves -- or perhaps they have been hurt someway in the past by someone who they thought was homosexual. Or then again, maybe they just think they need a scapegoat for their own problems.
I have to admit, I too wonder about people who seem to be a little too concerned about someone elses sexual orientation. Why even think about it? Why use so much energy on something that apparently has nothing to do with ones own life?

A lot of my family is homophobic.
I'm a lesbian...I don't like to be around guys who are homophobic; they scare me. I've seen too many documentaries about guys like that killing gays because they think they're doing the world a favor. Like we're rats or lice or something, and need to be exterminated.
When I think about it, I have a hard time understanding homophobia. I understand the few homophobic guys who were sexually abused as kids by pervs. But most homophobes haven't even met a gay/lesbian, much less been hurt by one. How can you hate a person you haven't even met?

i agree with you that sometimes latent homosexuals fear other homosexuals. It is weird when he or anyone fears someone for their sexual preference. It's more dangerous driving to work than standing next to a gay person. Why would anyone be scared of something that won't hurt them...bigotry. These people just want something to gripe about

I am neither a homophobe nor a homophile. Their sexual preferences are a matter of indifference to me. As a result, I'm not interested in hearing about them. On balance, I like and dislike them as people in about the same percentages as I like and dislike any other people.
As Bill Maher, not one of my favorite people, once asked a guest on his show who was seeking to generate enthusiasm for his favorite charity, "What should those of us who pretend to care pretend to do?"

I don't like homosexuals especially when they show there "affection" in public. to me homosexual public affection is not different than someone running around naked something I really don't want to see.

I cannot STAND people that judge homosexuals.
My parents do it all the time and I just want to punch them sometimes (not that I ever would).
"Oh, I bet they have AIDS cause they are gay." No, not only homosexuals get AIDS. Goodness gracious.
That is only one example, and it just PISSES ME OFF!!
