YES!!! it will help mileage, headers are also an added benefit for mileage AND performance. That's why Jeep even put headers on their straight six, for both reasons!!!! The other answers I've seen here, these people obviously never had a real performance car, just a little Eco thing they call a car??? Do the headers and the dual exhaust with some Walker Turbo mufflers, you'll be happy, truck will sound nice and 16 to 18, depending if manual or auto trans. Good Luck

I've read a couple of surveys on that subject and the results were you would get better mileage with a/c off driving around town but it didn't really say how much. With the price of gas you might want to fill up and write mileage down and run a week or so with a/c off and do same with a/c on and compare mpg. The survey did show there wasn't much differance at highway speeds because the windows down interfered with the areodynamics of the vehicle.

probably not.
There are certain high performance parts you can buy, though, like a K&N air filter that improve gas mileage. But at $200, you'd have to have the truck a while to get a payback.
The best thing is to keep it running well, use brand name fuel and keep the tire pressure and alignment good.
And see if you can trade it for a more fuel efficient vehicle without raising your vehicle payment.

Adding a dual exhaust may help the engine breathe better, but will probably lower your fuel mileage.

No. This will make it worse. This allows exhaust to escape at a quicker rate which will in return decrease the gas mileage.
