I am assuming by what your question is that you are protesting because you don't think Paris Hilton should be back in jail? If I misunderstood you disregard my answer.
_______________________________________________
Why are you protesting against Paris Hilton being back in jail? Think about it this way, if you were caught drunk driving AGAIN would you get thrown in jail for only a little bit? You would immediately get thrown in jail because you committed a serious crime and could have killed someone. The number of people that have been killed as a result of drunk driving is phenomenal. Why do you think Paris Hilton should be treated differently than the average Joe? (No offence to the Joes out there) Is it because she's rich? Or maybe because people are obsessed with how beautiful she is that makes her so popular? I just don't understand why people with money, or that are famous get it off easy. It's just not fair.
To answer your question, I will not join you.

Why are you wanting to protest? The thing that you should be 'protesting' about is this, fair treatment for all. Do you know that if 'you' were to be caught violating your probation, you could be sentence to a far higher term that she was. But, just because she is 'rich and famous', she should be treated to a lesser degree is what your saying. I personally think that todays latest Hilton story is not about her. It's about the court system in Los Angeles County and the Sheriffs Department. Both are 'right' in their own ways. Yes the jails are over-crowded nationwide. Yes, home detention is a very useful tool. But to protest, not for her, but for the way the system is being used. She willingly presented herself to the authorities to serve her sentence, they released her for reasons of their own to serve home detention, and then they order her back into jail for no reason at all, other than the court proving a 'point' to the sheriff. Now, she is being treated like a pawn. This is what I don't approve of.
The only backlash that I feared, was if some convicted child molester or other felon was to violate their probation, then legally, they could be set free after a short time, because of a precedent that Paris's ordeal has brought. Because all they would have to say is, 'What makes her better than me?' Because under the Preamble of the Constitution of the Untied States of America, it does say that we all are created equal.

No, and this is the reason...On this site it is all well and good to jab a little here and there, give advice and opinions, and all sorts of other things. To me, all the questions and comments I have read on this site in the last couple of days have been, "kind" or quite "brutal"......Her jail time is up to the courts, and guess so be it....However, I would like to tell you why I won't join your protest.....The video tape of how she was driving, was not only alcohol related, and reckless, but the paparazzi hounding her in her face could have contributed to the reckless driving.....However, she was intoxicated, and since the news media is now saying she wasn't taking her "medication", that is another irresponsible action on her part, Medication & Alcohol, especially depression/anxiety med's is a NO NO! So what kind of example is she setting for her young female fans......The other: Ask the mother or father that had a child killed by a drunk driver who was reckless....see if they think Ms. mega rich Hilton should walk off with a slap on her hand, or house arrest in a friggen mansion to serve her "sentence".........That is why I wouldn't join you if you paid me.....some poor sap, who got busted with a couple of joints is sitting in jail with murderers, rapists, and nut jobs, and she should just get a slap on the wrist? If it was you or I, we'd be praying we could get our lawyer to set a court date while we rotted in there!!!!! Very immature to even suggest a "protest" to get someone who could give a crap less about you, who would step over you if you were lying in a gutter, and this is how you would spend your time, when she wouldn't give you the time of day.......sorry dude, grow up time for her, she's 26 for god's sake!!!!! Maybe you should put your energy elsewhere!!!!! Like school when it starts again!!!!!!!!!!!

No,
She should thank her lucky stars that she’s not spending the rest of her 36 months in jail. The judge was extremely kind in only giving her 45 days. If it would have been you or me we’d be in jail for the rest of our sentence.
She was given 36 months of probation for reckless driving, a charge that was reduced from DUI. She was supposed to enroll in an alcohol education program within 21 days. That was in January, she failed to enroll in the alcohol education program, that in itself would have put you or me in jail for the rest of the 36 months, then she was stopped not once, not twice, but three times for driving with a suspended license, the first time would have put you or me back in jail.
So, in less then 6 months she violated her probation 4 times, finally she was put in jail for only 45 days, reduced to 23 for good behavior, before she even step foot in jail. How do you get good behavior before you go to jail? Then while in a special-needs area in the facility, where she was separated from the general prison population and spent 23 hours each day in her cell, she gets an unspecified medical condition and has to be released from jail. Most people in jail with serious medical conditions get treatment while in jail, they don’t get sent home. I’m talking about cancer, diabetes, etc.
It’s enough to make you wonder what the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was going to get out of the deal. I haven’t heard about a shortage of the type of special-needs cells Paris was put in. Do they really have that many celebrities, police officers, etc waiting for that space? I don’t think so. Even the police said that her release wasn’t from the lack of space.
Don’t forget that Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer specifically ordered that Hilton should not be allowed any work release, furloughs, access to an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail
Now back to Paris, she is at best a spoiled rotten child; at worst well I won’t use the words to describe it. She could easily be a leader, an adventurer, she could take up any cause, and make it front page news. She could be someone EVERYONE would look up too and admire, but all she is, is a party girl who spreads her legs. Just what I want all young women to emulate, yea right.
Maybe Paris will learn something, I doubt it, but I can hope. So no I won’t support any protest to get Paris out of jail. But it you want to give your approval to someone who parties and spreads their legs, drives drunk, speeds, fails to follow the rules of their probation, more power to you.

The 45 days she is going to spend in that cell will give her plenty of time to rehash her life and see what little she has done in society to benefit her and others..This will be a good lesson to her and maybe she will come out of this a different person. Its a wonder that her friends that drive around drunk with her havent spent any time in the pokey too.

What Paris needs to understand is that people die because of drunk drivers. She has no regard for the court and proved that by driving not once but twice on a suspended license. She is where she deserves to be.
