It depends. Sometimes they can, sometimes they can't. Try it for a while. If it is agressive, take it out. If it is ok, than leave it in and watch it. My friend recently got a betta, and she had 4 micky mouse platties with it, and 8 guppies. It was all fine with her, but when I got mine in my aquarium, he was a little aggressive, so I took him out. Bettas are very unpredictable. But, how many platties do you have in that tank? The rule is, 1in = i gallon. a platty is normally 1 in. ... Well, just watch, and maybe get a water check. You ammonia level will shoot up if you have too many fish, because the bactiria can't break down the waste fast enough. Ammonia kills fish. Well, good luck on your betta!

A male Betta can live just fine with Platys. In a 4 gallon tank it could be a little crowded. I suggest you go for a larger tank if possible.

And the betta myths run wild. Bettas are only aggressive towards other bettas. Otherwise they are peaceful community fish. A male betta and a platy should be just fine together in a 4 gallon.

There is a reason Male Betas are alone at the pet store they LIKE to live alone, and will kill all your platies. Get a small beta tank for the beta, and an aquarium for the platies, problem solved.

No those fish are fighting fish and they will kill other fishes so no the answer is no
