5832 Km or 3624 miles by a great circle route that goes from Marion, OH, across the Great Lakes, across central and western Canada, across Northern Alaska (roughly parallel to the Northern border of Alaska, and into the most extreme Northeastern part of Russia (the NE tip of Chukotskiy).

So THAT is the SHORTEST route to Russia from Marion. Of course, if you want to go to some specific place or region of Russia, the answer will be much different because Russia is a BIG COUNTRY!
