new car? take it back to the dealer!

definitely coming from the engine bay? is it louder if you prop up the hood and stand near the engine as opposed to being in the car?

i havent seen the engine bay of a santa fe but if the have those plastic engine covers, make sure they are secure, also check the plastic covers of any fuse boxes or such...

make sure the air filter cover is also secure...

if you can hear it with the hood propped up, try and trace the sound to a particular area of the engine bay...

You should bring it back to the dealer because it is under warranty, but if you want to cure your curiosity, I would look at an exhaust shield, either by or on the muffler, or the exhaust manifold shield under the hood. Sometimes that are just a little to close or weren't fasten properly and under the right rpm they can rattle.

Bring EVERY little problem to the dealer. I had a tiny noise in my ventilation. Now that the warranty is over and the noise is louder I have no say - since I never complained about the "tiny" problem.
