I've got a 2002 honda civic with 130,000 km on it. I plan to continue using it till it's dead, though I hope it never dies, ever.

I'm considering a roadtrip of 2000km in the next month.

We've got a baby that we'll be bringing (not sure if that would be a factor, but we'll be using our own car seat either way)

Should i rent a car or just use my own?

thanks for the responses so far. I should add that it's a 10 day road trip, and I'm seeing prices in the $400 range before taxes.

I'm also based in canada and will be doing the bulk of the driving in the U.S.

For Sure Rent! In the states it's like 24 dollars per day unlimited miles! They are new dependable cars so no worry of a break down , and no more miles on your car! I always get a rental!!

Depends on how reliable your car still is. ~
With a rental by a large rental co (like Enterprise) if anything goes wrong, you can get a replacement right away.
Also, get a diesel and you may save money on fuel.

If money is not an object, get a rental. These cars are newer and well-maintained. No hassles for you. If ever you get a breakdown , they will get a replacement for you- pronto.

Keep yours local.
Especialy if you're not sure about it.

Stuck downtown, is a lot better than suck in another country or state.
