This is what they mean to me: A liberal person is one who thinks everyone should do what they think is good for them. Basically, very open minded people tend to be liberal.
Democrats: People who want to PROGRESS
Republicans: People who have very strict ideologies they want to follow. They have certain morals that they don't want to deviate from.
Am I right or did I just make this all up from my head?

In a democracy, officials are electewd to do the will of the people. In a republic, all matters are referred to the people for a vote. In socialism officials do what THEY think should be done, and the people have to take what they dish out. We live in socialism, and have since 1933.
