Just saw the previews for the re-make of "Hairspray" with John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer.....…..my question is WHY in the world did they do that….nothing was wrong with the original movie with Ricki Lake and Divine , Sonny Bono and Deborah Harry …..

I KNOW! It's not like the original is particularly old or anything. Everytime I see the posters for it I get annoyed.

THey could never improve on John Water's original. Like John Travolta could EVER be better than Divine!

BOYCOTT!

John Travolta looks hideous as a woman. I don't care what anyone says he still looks like a man to me.

Messing with the original

I love Ricky Lake, all her movies were great.

two reasons.. one is that they can't come up with any new ideas for a film. The other is jump on the bandwagon like the others have..

Money. Motivation. More

MMM... lol More fits inbetween both words.. I love it when people question why.. we should do that more in the UK

It's the same reason they make sequels: noone in Hollywood has an original thought in their head! Much easier just to redo something that was done awhile ago. Pathetic, in my opinion!

They are in sequel and remake hell this summer, they cannot come up with many original themes for movies so they have to rehash old ones

Because they wanted Zac Efron in a movie that wasn't for little kids.

I know, that's pretty sad when movie stars are over-the-hill and trying to stay in the limelight! Whatever!!
