Were you aware President Bush had been arrested for drunk driving? Do you know what "caging votes" is, and do you think it supports the troops to have their votes caged? Are you aware that 86,000 residents of New Orleans whose homes were not damaged in Katrina are not being allowed to reoccupy their property because well connected developers want it? Are you aware that 40 % of your taxes goes to pay interest on the national debt? Are you aware that 80 % of the national debt was run up by Presidents Reagan and this Bush? Are you aware that Paris Hilton is back in jail today? Do you think the American "news media" is useless?

To a certain degree, there are SOME news channels that have an agenda. All news channels at the end of the day though are all the same, a business. Their job is first to stay profitable then second deliver relevant, rating catching news. The news that you deem as important is out there it just may not be on prime time. None the less, even if we had news to turn the tides in this country I sincerely believe that as long as the majority of Americans are living a comfortable lifestyle sitting on their 20 inch rims and eating their steaks, they could care less if Bush declares a dictatorship, makes a trillion dollars, and removes our constitution completely.

I agree with strontium_9t. The 86,000 residents whose "homes" were not damaged are not even homeowners. They live in PUBLIC HOUSING. They're renters, not homeowners. They don't own anything. These people you're referring to have also been living RENT FREE for nearly 2 years. They'll probably better off living elsewhere; the education system is guaranteed to be better, as long with the public works sector. Essentially, they're better off where they are. They want to come home, so they continue to be a DRAIN on society...and it won't be tolerated. For your information, HUD intends to improve these housing structures...but the residents themselves are holding up the work with the lawsuits they fight. People who have lived there for 30 + years...don't you know PUBLIC HOUSING IS ONLY INTENDED TO BE TEMPORARY! There's no reason one couldn't get a decent job and move out of public housing in a 30 year period. It just shows how incredibly lazy these residents are.
