You don't want paddle shifters for a drift car(especially not your first drift car). Try Ford Mustangs or Nissan S13,15, 300zx. You want a common RWD car. That way shop will be familiar with fixing them, but the car will also have a wide variety of performance upgrades. You need the clutch pedal to drift(that's why you can't have a paddle shifter).

go to any street coarse and they have classes you can take to learn
