Sounds like intentional harm from harassment in the work place. It doesn't have to be sexual to cause civil liability. I'd keep a record of all the case he doe and take it to a lawyers - then when he says you have a strong case- drop the hammer on him.

It depends on your relationship. I mean if she is sending you a text messsage then you have some sort of friendship with her taht would lead her to believe that she could send you a TXT. Was the joke in bad taste? If you've never made an jabs at each other before...then yes. But if you kid around and no her not to be a cruel person then I wouldn't think too much of the text.
The best thing is to give a similiar reply....if the atmosphere at work changes. Then you have a case against her. Make sure it's a clever one that attacks her looks as well.

It depends. Are you close with your boss, do you two joke about things like appearance together, or is this just an out of the blue occurrence? If you are not at that comfort level where you two joke around like this, then I would say you should probably be offended. At the very least, I would approach her and calmly let her know that you did not appreciate it and it was unprofessional.

Wow - is she usually like this? It's definitely inappropriate, but if there has been a precedent of her "joking" around with you like that and it hasn't been addressed, she may have just thought she was being funny and expected that you would as well. As a manager, she should have used better judgement. I would politely and privately let her know that you felt her comment was unprofessional, and it wasn't appreciated - if it happens again, you know you have a major issue. Don't delete the message, at least not for a while.

Try REALLY offended. If you guys do not have a personal, friendly relationship outside of work that could excuse such behavior - that is extremely rude and even more unprofessional of her. Don't delete the message and I would take it to a Human Resources administrator.

What a tacky thing to say to you. Weird too...Does your boss have an unusual sense of humor or is this out of character? I would be offended, but would let it go, thinking she's a little off in the head.

It may be harassment, but it's hardly sexual harassment if those are the only messages he's sent. I wouldn't bother talking to him first, just meet with HR and see what they think.

Was it meant as a joke?
I would tell her you did not appreciate
it and see what she meant by it.
No good jumping to report her
if it was just a joke.....you might end
up looking silly.
How do you usually get along with her?
Are you friends tht do joke occasionally?
If you are sure in your heart that she was
just being a *****, then go ahead and report
her.

Are you sure your boss wasn't joking around with you? If that were me, I'd be pretty offended. Besides, even if your boss actually DID think that person could be you, that's damn rude to even mention it.
