Several things / prophecies must be fulfilled:
All of the Saints must not only have been marked/sealed as such, their test ending in an approved condition in regard to the very last one must be finished before the end can be initiated. (based on definite scripture)
Daniel also mentioned a final pushing between the king of the north and the king of the south. The king of the south's identity has long been known, but the king of the north's has shifted a few times -- at the moment it is unclear what nation or national groups he will be identified with.
After this, the nations must attack Babylon the Great. A prophecy mentions a report about Babylon the Great -- it is unknown if the report is equal to the attack?
Around this time, it seems that Gog of Magog, Satan, will attack God's people on earth.
However, the year following this report, what is described seems very much to fit Armageddon.
So, there are several prophecies outstanding still -- but these can be fulfilled very quickly once things are put in motion.

The Bible says that when it does all of the believers will disappear from the Earth and go to heaven right? What if that is backwards? I think it will happen when every last person on the Earth who believes in God dies and goes to heaven. God would have no need in a world that does not believe in his wonder. And some of you say that that would never happen, but the numbers of people who believe in God are not as great as they once were. At this rate in another 2000 years there might be only a handful left...

Armageddon is already occurring as we speak (or type).
I found the answer in the book explaining ALL of Revelations referenced below. You can read the book yourself to understand the answer:
In order to understand what John is presenting as “a place” where this “great battle” between Christ and the world ensues, it is imperative to understand what the word “Armageddon” means “in the Hebrew tongue.
”The word Armageddon is derived from “Mount Megiddo,” Har Megido in Hebrew. This was the ancient site of the Great Battle of Megiddo. This battle occurred circa 609 BC, between the armies of Egypt and the armies of the kingdom of Judah.
...
John borrows from a prophecy of Isaiah to illustrate this “place” where the “battle”between good (doing unto others as you would have them do unto you) and evil (not doing unto others) takes place.
...
The “place” where our choices are “gathered together” (our own Via Maris) is in our own conscience. In this quiet place, the word of truth meets up with the word of the world—this is the battlefield—yes, our own “Armageddon.” John uses the outcome of the battlefought at Mount Megiddo (“Armageddon”) to explain what occurs when the “battle” in our conscience takes place.

NEVER!!!
The Biblical Armageddon is a Myth (used in its original meaning) and a Metaphor...
Read some Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung, etc...
Now, a Total War within and around the Middle East area is another question altogether... and IF "Mr. Bush" has his way it will be anytime soon...

We are due for an ice age, and the many prophets say 2012 is the year.
i think a renaissance is upon us soon, but no complete destruction to the world. So many people have so many theories about this and they are almost always possible. Great question!

Well... since the bible says no man will know the date... um just pick a date and that one is not it, then pick again, thats not it. All these other people who tell you the date... guess what? They are wrong... so, if i say I know it is going to be june 5, 2012... you are safe to sin all that day, just make sure you repent before june 6th, because i dont think it will happen then. Good luck!!
