anytime you use bbq sauce you have to put it on at the end because the sugars in it cause it to burn. A great recipe for whole chickens is beer can chicken, super easy and moist. Can do on either the bbq outside or in the oven. then coat with sauce at the end.

That's the sugar in your BBQ sauce. Next time, try baking at a lower temperature for a longer time. Cover your chicken with foil or in a covered dish. Then take the cover off at for the last 10 minutes. Another option is to not add the BBQ sauce until the end. Then the chicken gets all crispy and brown, doesn't get soggy, and the sauce stays unburnt.

I suppose you need to cover the chicken in Aluminium Foil first, with all your ingredients etc and bake for 3 - 4 hrs. When your chicken is readlly cook, remove the foil and let it cook for 1 & a half hour untill the chicken turn golden brown. You can sprinkle some rosemary and any other herbs if you prefer etc. Make sure your chicken doesn't turn out burn.
