No, no, Not at all.
Although, you'd do yourselves a huge favour by doing a few of the following:
* recognise that this site is international and while you may believe that your country is the best in the world, we think the same of our own.
* learn where other countries are. You would not believe the amount of times I've been asked for driving directions from the US to Australia (I kid you not!)
* Americans are stereotypically seen as being arrogant. Tone it down.
I love visiting the US. In the last 10 years, I've been over 6 times. 2 of my very best friends live in Washington state. However, the ignorance I encountered when there was a blight. One person asked if I was English, I said Australian, and she replied very rudely "Oh, same difference."
Turn that around, how about if I asked her if she was Mexican? Same difference?
I hope this answer makes sense to you. I've answered similar questions before, in a similar manner.
Cheers,
Libby

I travel internationally quite frequently and can remember a time when I was in many country's and people found out I was American they would come from other towns etc to meet me and shake hands with me , in the last several years I have found that these people are quite different, they still like us , but. they sure don't have any use for our politicians or their policies, and most places I go anymore I don't go alone as before , there are many people who hate
America and blame the civilians when as I have explained to many , we are the same as you and have no control over what our gov, doe's also the same as them, some understands others don't, but. I don't go much alone any more as I know I could be killed very easily.

Much of the rest of the world knows more and is less brainwashed by their media which is more balanced- particularly on the Middle east-but they also generally understand the appaling level of ignorance of the average american - something shared by more travelled and informed americans too living overseas for years.
So the more common problem for americans is not hate- it's the fact that many in the world simply don't respect them.
they regard them as gullible and easily manipulated by their own ruling elite. an almost child-like people with too much power.

Not sure where you have been lately but in the last year I have been in 14 different countries, and they love us.
Maybe you should turn off your computer and go see the REAL world a bit, it might give you a more realistic perspective.

That's what happens when your leader announces that he reserves the right to invade any country, unilaterally, if he "decides" they are a threat to us. Then there's the secret prisons, the torture, the total disregard for the Geneva Conventions, etc., etc. You'd hate any other country that acted that way...

Wrong!
Australia, New Zealand, to just name two, don't seem to have many problems with us.
though many countries like us in general, but dislike much of our politics
