I have a 1999 Altima I just bought and I need to reset the alram because the original owners said the alram kept going off and I think I need it back on to use the remote to unlock the doors. I bought a new remote, but it does not work. The red LED stays on in the car all the time. It does not flash like the newer cars do. I do not know if it is suppose to flash or not. Bottom line, I just want the remote to unlock the doors. I really do not care about the alarm, unless, it has to be on to use the remote. I have the instructions for the new remote, but it will not get pass the first step and I think the alarm thing is my problem. I am sure the remote is OK. Does anyone know the answer to these questions? Thanks all!

E-mail me jp.hudson@sbcglobal.net I will foward instructions for remote introduction to your car. Did you know you can arm and disarm the alarm fron the drivers door lock Cyl by turning and holding the unlock (disarm) for two seconds alarm and headlights will stop flashing. Turning and holding the lock to lock also (arms) the security light and alarm. If the drivers side lock does not work you can do this from the trunk lock Cyl too. If you have an owners manual please read it after we get the remote programed.
