ok this is getting on my nerves.
people are always saying that teenagers that say they only like classic rock are all posers.
This is so NOT true!
People who are like 40 always make me angry when i wear like a black sabbath or guns n' roses shirt and they ask me to name a song...i can name like 20! Does anyone else have this problem?

Those same 40 y/o should be happy you like the classics. It's teens like you who're keeping the good music flame lit!

(though I have a tough time considering GnR classic rock)

But to play devil's advocate, wearing classic rock tees *has* been a trend in the last few years. Esp. since anyone can get em at places like The Gap now. So you *kinda* can't blame some of those 40 y/os being a bit skeptical when they've seen their Xth teen in a Van Halen tee while listening to the Cheetah Girls on their ipod. (not that that's you)

Keep on keepin on

I have the same problem. I'm 15 and the only kind of music I listen to is classic rock and 80's. Some adults think I'm lying about liking them but I'm not. I don't know how teens can listen to modern music, I hate it. I can't really talk about music with my friends because they've never heard of the bands I like. I talk to adults about it but they say I don't really like that kind of music. Don't listen to those people. I don't think you're a poser, you just have good taste in music.

Hum, I get the same problem with people who think I have to be a classic rock poser cause I'm asian.
I'm 16 and no one has a problem with me listen to classic rock (like my teachers and I talk about music all the time) but other kids in my school are always like "oh, you can't love Pink Floyd, you're asian, you're a poser" and it's like come on, why should that matter?
And they're like name me their first album, and I tell them Piper at teh Gates of Dawn, and they're like no it's not, it's dark Side of the Moon (that the 8th one you morons) and it gets me really really angry.

I had this problem in high school........I'm 24 now. I went to a small Catholic school with like 500 kids total. A majority of schoolmates were either into rap, hip-hop, grunge or Irish street punk (I grew up right outside of Boston.....home to the Murphys, Ducky Boys, etc....). Classic rock had no place there, as they said......screw that........ I ignored criticism, wore my Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Who Ts (most of which I had made......couldn't afford to buy them back then and they weren't as popular).

Now, I think its rather funny, many of the people I went to school with have turned to the classics........maybe some of them truly enjoy them or maybe their being posers.......who cares.

Keep doing what you're doing..........music trends have come and gone......but the classics still remain true.

I personally don't have this problem, but a friend of mine does. Some adults thinks she's funny because she knows practically every KISS and Def Leppard song that was made. She doesn't even like a lot of modern rock bands, because she doesn't think it has the originality and talent that the music in the 60s--80s had. But instead of adults thinking that's good, like I would think they would, they're like, "Honey, you're not even old enough to know who that band is."

goodness

I don't think that teens who wear classic rock t-shirts are posers (or Asians either for that matter!). Nobody ever bothered me when I used to wear my Led Zeppelin and Grateful Dead t-shirts when I was a teen. Don't let people get on your nerves. You know who you really are and what you really like, and that is what matters. Screw 'em!

I don't have this problem. I grew up listening to classic rock because my parents listened to it. Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd are like the family bands, we all listen to it and we all love it. Don't worry about people who call you a 'poser.' If you like something, you like it. Honestly, it really doesn't matter what they think, just shrug them off. Don't let it bother you, and just keep enjoying your music.

i had this problem too
i didnt wear the shirts but they would be surprised when it came up on my iPod, and they would ask do you know anything else by them. and then ask questions about the band/band members
its annoying but you tolerate it because then you can rub it in there face when you answer all the questions right
