my jeep cherokee is leaking coolant from the drain plug. I replaced the plug today, coolant still leaks. It is dripping out of the center of the plug, there is a hole that runs all the way through, like a drinking straw. I replaced the plug with the exact same plug that came out of the jeep from the factory. Why is it leaking and How do I get it to stop. Thanks

Replace the radiator.

Sounds like you replaced the center section of the drain petcock. Remove the larger, outer part from the radiator bung and replace the entire assembly. Also, never put Teflon tape on the center section threads, outer part is okay.

The seat that the plug sits against when you tighten it is corroded or dirty. Remove the new plug and try to clean the seat in the radiator up with a drill bit. (By hand, not with a drill)

I work for a Major car dealership in Tampa and what I recommend is that you take it to the dealer and see if there is a recall on it and see if its covered under warranty.

Good Luck!

sounds like you got a line nut or a bushing instead of a plug,,
A radiator drain cock looks like a nut or a bushing with a "T" screw run thru the center ,,,, possibly the thumb screw has come out or someone sold you part of a drain cock ?????
