No one ever really forgets at all. There is always a special feeling for that person that will always be there. Grief is different for everyone so there is no easy answer for this question. The only thing you can do as a friend is to offer a kind and sympathetic ear, a hug, and a shoulder to cry on when she needs it. She will eventually see that her husband would want her to go on with life. Until then she just needs to have someone around her to show she is still loved and cared about. Give your friend a hug from me and tell her I care!

The grieving process takes a long time and to take as long as needed. Tell her you will be her support system for as long as it takes. She will never forget him but time will help in easing the pain.

time does lessen the pain ...notice I didn't say heals...she'll always have wonderful memories..as rightfully she should...eventually she'll move on in life and his passing will become bearable...good luck to her...she has already been blessed to have loved that powerfully...

Just listen to her. Encourage her to talk about him. It will help her a lot, if she can speak about her feelings.

All you can do is be there for her.
She will probably always love him (I know I still love someone...) and they will always be special to her, and it will take time for her to find her feet again.
