Check out a Dirt Devil at places like Home Depot or Lowes. They are reasonably priced, lightweight and have good suction.
Good Luck !!

The better SUCKING vacuums will be bagged versions. The bagless filters tend to clog over time robbing power. Also they are expensive to replace. One of the better units out now is a Hoover Preferred Widepath. They sell for about $110 with a wide brush & onboard tools. Beware of the Bissell units from Wal-Mart...while they may be under $50, after a year when they need service, it will cost almost that to get belts, filters (yes, there is more than one!) and a service. Why spend $50+ once a year, when you can buy a quality unit that you can use for 10+ years?!? If you really prefer bagless, look into a Dirt Devil Vision or a Panasonic.
