Why are teenage girls and other people so fascinated by her? Why do they want to follow her and be like her?

What does she offer that is so captivating?

Do you think its her mother's fault that she has eventually grown up to be like this? Kathy Hilton said the verdict was unjust and unfair...is she the enabler or the initiator of her wildness?

Parents, what do you think about Paris and Kathy Hilton???

Well, as a 16 year old in high school, mostly everyone makes fun of her. Guys think she is a stupid joke, and girls just think she's pathetic! She is not thought of as cool in high school and is the butt of MANY jokes.

However, many elementary and middle-school kids are influenced by her...who knows why...she's not even pretty, with her big floppy hands and feet and big hook nose, and also, in almost every picture she has one lazy eye. She really has brown hair and brown eyes...and wears blue contacts every day. It is definitely reasons that I cannot explain why they like her...maybe they just figure blonde hair, blue eyed is what's "beautiful" because it's what they're told, but when you get into high school...you realize, yeah blonde and blue eyes are still beautiful....but she dresses like a joke and she's fake and that's what makes her ugly.

The fact that she got out of jail early just proves that celebrities really are above the law, because any other citizen would have had to stay out the entire jail sentence.

***Oh and ps, I DO think it is her mom's fault. I come from a wealthy family, but they were good parents and taught me values...and even though they are wealthy, still insisted I get a job and work for my own stuff. You can have everything and STILL value it, but she has everything and doesn't value it because she was never taught to realize how lucky she is and that's the difference.

Because she is what most people aren't: rich and spoiled. I don't understand it myself. I hope that people are getting tired of her. She isn't someone I would want my kids looking up to.

Of course it is her parents' fault. But she is a grown up now (right? I don't even know her age) and how she chooses to behave is now her own responsibility.

I know nothing about Kathy Hilton. I don't think I've even seen her on tv. But any mother who wants her child to continue to be spoiled and priviledged would think the verdict is unfair. Any mother who wants her child to be responsible and grounded would think the verdict is fair (or at least some sort of punishment).

I heard that she is like a girl stuck at a certain age
around 21 who never grew up despite being closer to 30. Its still all about parties and make up and all that stuff, I dont know how she dosent get bored seriously! It is a very small world to live in.
I find her life is like a drama, and as I hate soaps i prefer to watch real people, but she is totally different to me and why anyone would actually want to aspire to be her is beyond me. But I do think it is not totally her fault that she is the way she is, if you look at LA and the wealthy and pompous elite she mixes in you can kind of see that she has "suceeded" and done what is required to impress that culture. I dont think she should be condemnned without taking a look at what her culture is actually like and how many times before the press and other ppl have rewarded her for flashing her pants or even no pants and acting like an airhead.

Almost no one including teenage girls like Paris Hilton. We had a discussion in class once about whether or not her sentence was fair and it was unanimous. While I do enjoy seeing Paris in jail I will admit that her punishment is a little unfair they wouldn't have given just any average joe the same amount of time as her.

Teenage girls are fascinated by her because she's rich and famous. They're blinded by the bling. Paris Hilton is contributing to their attitude that intelligence and ambition mean nothing when you could just inherit a lot of money. I had a friend who used to (she might still do) want to be exactly like her. But she was even more of an airhead.

Paris Hilton is an unappreciative rich girl who has never known a day of hardship in her life. She has no appreciation of her lavish life style or in deed her life compared to women just as pretty as her who are working in factories or as waitresses or indeed as prositutes and strippers. She is quite shallow and why any one would find this shallow, spoilt, vain little girl captivating is beyond my comprehension. what life experiences had she had that has been character building? What views could she possibly have that would be of any interest tp anybody. The judge should make her return to prison and meet her obligations - everybody else has to so should she - nobody is doing this girl any favours by reinforcing that she should be treated special - nobody is helping her.

Of course mama's going to say that. What else would she say on national TV. Perhaps mom made alot of mistakes or maybe the kid is just a rotten person. We'll never really know because we don't live it. When you have too much of everything, you get bored, you can have everything, what's to work for. Her life is just gimme, gimmie and notice me. She has no substance, no soul, no honor, she is just pretty and rich with nothing else. I don't feel sorry for her, maybe her mother tried to teach her values and yet mom was born rich also, so what values did mom learn? There are too many children and young women of honor and substance in the world who need to be valued and receive a helping hand with their education to be bothered with the likes of the Hiltons.

Truthfully as a parent I see that Kathy Hilton is seeing before her very eyes the fruits of her parenting.

Similar to loving "Shirley Temple" in the 1920's ... "Poor little rich girl" phenomena.

Certainly, Shirley Temple was more whole some ... but in an economy with a wealth "Disparity" in social classes ... we will find anyone to hoist in that seat.

"South Parks" spoof on her actually hits every social reason. "The episode opens with a small crowd, including Wendy Testaburger, Bebe Stevens, and others, gathered to see Paris Hilton make an appearance at the local mall. Wendy is rebuffed by her friends for not knowing who Hilton is, and Hilton enters to the cheering crowd. Hilton presents herself as "totally spoiled and snobby" and "a whore", according to onlookers, and announces the opening of a store called "Stupid Spoiled Whore" in South Park. The girls enter and discover, among other things, lewd clothing and a perfume titled "Skanque". Wendy is appalled by the blatant objectification of women. As Paris drives away in her limo, her small pet dog, in a fit of depression, pulls out a gun and commits suicide. Paris shrieks that "it happened again! Another dog killed itself!" The limo driver himself appears less than surprised.

Wendy tricks her father into going to the Stupid Spoiled Whore store, and while he is initially appalled at what is sold there, is quickly manipulated into accepting the store, assuring Wendy he'll make her the "Stupidest, most spoiled whore of them all!". Bebe announces a "Stupid Spoiled Whore" party at her house. However, they refuse to invite Wendy because her "whore" suit makes her look more like a normal teenage girl (despite her being 9). They wear skimpy outfits to school and make suggestive comments to the boys passing in the hallway as they invite them; the boys generally respond nervously, or not at all. The one exception is Cartman, who walks past them on purpose hoping for an invitation, but is ignored. "

------ ------ Edit -------
Do I blame her parents … NO WAY!!!

She’s 26 Years old … car insurance drops at 25 years old … she’s got to accept responsibility to mature and grow up. Sure, we can all carry baggage from our childhood … but we also have to mature to get past anything out parents did or didn’t do for us … and at 26 she should be 6 years into maturing (IMO).
