I just got my 3rd shot for it over memorial day weekend. I am needle phobic. The first time i was so scared they were afraid I was going to pass out, the second I cried, and the third I watched the nurse and didn't cry at all. My boyfriend, parents, and doctor made me realize that the shot would hurt a lot less than getting HPV or cervial cancer. I'm glad I got it. The shot goes in you upper arm like most other shots. It is a series of 3 shots. I think you get the first one then wait like 6 months and get the second and then wait two months and get the third(I think). Yes, it hurts a bit just like any other shot..but its over after a second. It hurts less than the menengitis shot (I think I spelled that wrong) if you have gotten it..

My advice is to be safe and get the shot.
Hope this helps!!

I believe you get it in the arm and it would hurt like a normal shot. Just for a second and then a little soreness afterwards. I is a series of three shots. I would say that you should get it. It greatly reduces the risk of getting HPV that causes cervical cancer and you don't want that. It doesn't matter if it hurts cause it will be over and it will help you in the long run. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor these questions. They know and can help put you at ease and explain further the benifits of the shot. I say you should do it.

Had it been out when I was a younger woman, I'd have gotten it in a heartbeat, especially knowing what I know now. HPV is incredibly common; most of us have at least one strain. Luckily most strains are harmless, but a few of them are responsible for upwards of 70% of all cervical cancer cases. I have been through the cycle of abnormal Paps, colposcopies and LEEP procedures twice now. I'm not living in fear of cancer because my Paps have never been worse than mild dysplasia, but it's been an unpleasant ordeal and there is definitely the risk that it could progress. If this vaccine had been available 15 years ago I might have avoided all this.

No its fine. I've had all three doses of it now and its just the same as any other injection. You might feel it a little in your arm and afterwards it'll be bruised for a day or so. Its nothing to worry about, especially if you're normally fine with them :) x

I would recommend it....its a great vaccine out. The injection site is the upper arm....and its not painful at all just like any other vaccination just a little bit of burning from the medication and it will be a little tender at the site for a day and that is it here is a site that will explain everything and answer almost any question you have about Gardasil.

NO -
there are dangerous side effects. The government and the drug companies are trying to force girls to have this vaccine. Your doctor is going to insist that it is OK. It is NOT.

Negative side effects of Gardasil, a new Merck vaccine to prevent the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer, are being reported in the District of Columbia and 20 states, including Virginia. The reactions range from loss of consciousness to seizures," reports the Washington Times .

"Young girls are experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, temporary loss of vision and some girls have lost consciousness during what appear to be seizures," said Vicky Debold, health policy analyst for the National Vaccine Information Center, a nonprofit watchdog organization that was created in the early 1980s to prevent vaccine injuries"

You have the right to decline this and would strongly suggest it. They are even trying to vaccinate new born babies with this. Our world is going crazy. Big business is dictating what our government shoves down our throat.

I actually have HPV and I've only had sex with one guy.... He gave it to me the first time. You should definitely get it, it's small enough to pass through a condom, but the condom does help. My OB/GYN told me that about 80% of women have it. Get the vaccine. There's three shots that you get over a period of months. It sorta stings a little, but nothing to cry over, and you get it in your arm. Goodluck!

This injection is give IM (intramuscular), meaning deep in the muscle, of your upper arm. Most immunizations are given this way to adults. The injection itself would hurt about the same as most immunizations. The decision to get it is very personal and should be made after research and thought.
