one thing you'll notice in questions like this is that people either HATE kobe or LOVE him. Very few people illicit such a reaction like that, which I think has a lot to say about his value. He's the reason why people pay top dollar to come to the Staples Center. Will he ever be beloved like Jordan? No. He has too much baggage and dirty laundry which the public will never forget. Plus, he clearly hasn't learned how to get public sympathy on his side.

His value will be never as high as it was when he was with Shaq because people LOVED his potential and he had done little to piss off the public. Right after shaq left is when I would've sold him at peak value.

But if you held him after the colorado incident, you had to just keep holding onto him if you saw his play. He has done a lot to revamp his image, changing his jersey number and now is the number one selling jersey in the NBA.

His value for the future and ability to get another championship or scoring title rests greatly on Mitch Kuptchak and Jim Buss. And that is not a great outlook for the future. The scoring title he can get. But we are starting to see fatigue in his play. And he needs help and help bad. And I'm not talking about jermaine o'neal. He needs someone more solid, less injury prone. And at least 2 players like that, not just one.

Of course, his value has dropped again amidst this scandal from the other Buss son's rumors of trading kobe. I'd say the best time sell Kobe was in his championship years.

But if you own him now, definitely do not sell. His value is on a slight downward spiral but should pick up with any trade that is done to get another player, no matter how mediocre the player. Sell him during the season while things are going well before he goes sour.

If you don't own him, don't buy. Leave it be. Other better invest ments out there like Lebron.

These quotes were criticized back then. Basketball fans that you see online are usually a younger generation that have been probably watching since late 90s or early 2000's (that dont know how mj was back then). Ppl bash kobe for 25+ shots a game..when Mj did that a lot. People get mad at lebron for his decisions when mj had some horrendous ones. People forget things as time goes on...

if Kobe was a stock, I would say hold for 2 years, and if you see no improvement, then sell and get value out of him. You're right that he is the best scorer, but not best overall player. If his situation doesn't improve in the next 3 years in terms of getting closer to the finals, he'll begin the downslide of his career.

Kobe is God!!! for the next couple of years he will still be dominant. He will never win another title. he is lucky to win 3, he will win another scorong title. i see the lakers trading him next summer after they dont make the playoffs or maybe get to the 2nd round.

During the playoffs some gaurd becomes the new flavor. Like Wade last year.

Hold.
Expect major reshuffling of the playing staff with the Lakers over the break. Lakers could come strong over the next season or two and his value should jack up.

kobe still has it in him. if he gets traded or has someone else to help him win another championship he can do it cause he's one of the best. as for lebron he's good but not as good as kobe

If he gets a personality transplant in the off season, Buy. Otherwise, Sell.

it doesn't matter if kobe wins another title again. if he does, he'll just proves he's another ballhog. he should learn to help his team win. he can do it by sharing the ball more.
