I have a summer assignment that i have to do. It's nothing too hard, its actually pretty easy. Basically I just have to see at least 3 movies, read at least 3 books, do something exciting with friends/family, talk about at least 3 controversal topic, and do something that relates to math (such as shopping), and put it all in a notebook and decorate it as if it were a scrap book. Any Ideas?

Movies you can watch: Night at the Museum, Madea's Family Reunion, Shrek 3, Pulse, The Notebook, etc.

You can just go to the library and pick out a book because I don't know what books you like or what level you read at.....

Things you can do with your friends/family: Go to the beach, go to a theme park, go to a musical or a play, have a family reunion, have dinner at a restaraunt with the whole family, etc.

And since you have to do something that relates to math you can just go shopping, (as you said).

And a topic you can talk about is global warming.

Start with 'Kon Tiki'. The book. Read it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kon_tiki

Kon-Tiki was the raft used by Norwegian explorer and writer Thor Heyerdahl in his 1947 expedition. It was named after the Inca sun god, Viracocha, for whom "Kon-Tiki" was said to be an old name. Kon-Tiki is also the name of the popular book that Heyerdahl wrote about his adventures.
