1.the earth rotates around an axis called rotational axis.Earth's axis is tiped over about 23.5 degrees angle from vertical.earths rotational axis points the same way as the stars.Think of the Earth as a spinning top, tipped over to one side.Over very long time periods (thousands of years) the direction of Earth's axis slowly changes due to precession.the earth rotates around it's axis in 24 hours and that's 1000 miles /h.the earths revolution is around the sun and it takes 1 year.while potating around it's own axis,it also revolates around the sun.

2.There are two major motions affecting the Earth: its rotation around its axis, and its rotation around the Sun (which we call 'revolution'). While the rotation of the Earth on its axis causes the nightly movement of the stars across the sky, the revolution is responsible for the fact that we can see different parts of the sky at different parts of the year. When we see stars in the sky,it's connected to the earths rotation and revolutoin.

Rotation- refers to movements of earth from its axis, just like a top. Revolution - Refers to movements of earth from the sun, it's like you circling around a certain person or post. We see different stars and constellation during different season beacause the earth revolves, as the earth revolves theres is a certain position in which this certain constellation can only be seen. I hope i explained it correctly ^_^

Rotation on axis - 24 hours

Revolution around the sun - 365.24 days

we see different constellations because the earth is in different places as we revolve around the sun.
