Most likely the file is hidden. You can either "drop" to the command prompt (formerly called the DOS prompt), CD to the system32 directory and change the attribute of that file. Alternatively, you can change the settings of your Windows Explorer to show all files, including the hidden ones. Now, you didn't say what version of Windows you're using. So, you may have to change these directions a bit because these are for Windows XP Pro. 1) launch Windows Exploer; 2) Click Tools, then Folder Options, then select the View tab; 3) select the radio button for Show hidden files and folders; 4) click OK; 5) go to the folder and find the file that you want to delete -- first make a copy of it just in case, then delete it. Reboot your computer. If it reboots, you may be okay. Monitor your computer's operation for a few days or weeks. If it still works fine, you may delete the back-up copy. If for any reason your computer starts to act up, restore the file and get a very good Anti-Virus package with updated signature files and use that to clean your trojan.

In addition to the other good answers here, make absolutely certain that the file you want to get rid of is in fact a bad file.
There are scams going around claiming that some file is a bad thing that not even Norton etc. can get rid of. Well the reason Norton does not get rid of it is it is a good file essential to the operation of Windows, and if you are ever successful in deleting it, your Windows won't operate any mroe.

It's a hidden file.
Go to C:\Windows\system32\
and click on tools at the top of windows explorer.
select, do not hide system files
and click on ok
Now,
if you still can't find it.
either download AVG, or buy McAfee.
if it's for just this, download AVG
if its for more than 1 problem, or you would like the best, buy McAfee
run a full scan

if it doesnt appear it may be a hidden system file and you can never delete it. İf it a virus (probably) you need an antivirus. I recommend you avira antivirus. This is the best of free antivirus softwares. I have tested it in many XXX websites (plenty of viruses&trojans)

I think you have the setting: HIDE ALL PROTECTED FILES option on your computer. click that box (under tools/folder options). All dynamic link libraries are usually hidden/protected files. Once you check that box, you should be able to find it under explorer and delete. On that note, most virus/spyware will 'regenerate' itself and will be 'impossible' to remove unless you figure out the rootkits and registry entries. Good Luck. Buy spyware/antivirus protection. I recommend WEBROOT's versions.

I had the same thing, I restored my computer and it got rid of the virus. If you have important data, you may want to back it up. To restore your system, you have to have the system restoration disc that came along with your computer. If you don't want to restore your system, you can but products to remove it or have the Geek Squad fix it for around $200.

Its a hidden file.
Google the filename and you'll get results from AV companies that'll tell you step-by-step how to remove them.
