Caught me ... yeah, quetion comes from "Starter Wife" ... but I could be wrong ... I though men fantacised about finding the homless woman and saving her ... so, I'm puzzled why a woman saving a homeless man (on TV) is wrong.

I think it is looked down on by many (let's be real) if a woman fell in love with a homeless man. Not only because of his "status" but because he could not be a provider of any kind long term. It is more socially acceptable for a man to "rescue" a woman from a bad situation. On The Starter Wife, the homeless charachter is a hot, Malibu homeless guy. A little different than the norm.. We are all guilty of being judgemental on this one.

Peoples perceptions of the homeless are generally negative. I believe people look at them and see them dirty and poor, then consider them to be lazy and no good. In other words: worthless. I can't believe that a woman with children would choose to be there. The same is true of most men too.

As for your actual question. These are opinions only. I don't feel this way nor how previously mentioned, but I think people look at the men in this situation more harshly. It is the old mindset that the men are to be the providers and take care of the families. If a man is homeless, he is not doing his job. Therefore, a woman falling in love with him is insane. She is setting herself up to fail.

Not all homeless people choose to be there. Life may have dealt them some heavy blows and they had little or no chance of reconciling themselves to overcome these obstacles.

Final thoughts: Most became that way due to bad situations mostly beyond their control. You can't get a job or assistance without an address and you can't get an address without a job or assistance. It is a vicious cycle.

Really? It is? Are You sure? Sounds like a great idea for a TV show. Or a question to ask if You are doing a survey.

If the homeless guys turned into a Tyler Perry, everyone would be all for it.

Men who fantasize about homeless women don't think about saving them. They think about using them.

most people think its wrong, but i think its fine. god created us just the same but some are socially advanced than others. its like that song in pochohontas(sp) "you only like the people who walk and think like you" or...something like that!
