So when do you ship out?
Don't be silly. Sure, you can hang a flag in your window. Send a care package to a soldier. Find the soldier's family and do something nice for them...or...
Have a barbecue on the 4th and celebrate your freedom. Enjoy the fireworks.
Teach your children to respect freedom and liberty.
Thank a firefighter/police officer/paramedic for the difficult and often dangerous service they offer our people.
Write your congressman about illegal immigration, abortion, global warming or whatever you need to rant about.
Cast a ballot.
Go to church. Pray. Pray a lot! The leaders of the country really need some inspiration and I am sure that they appreciate knowing that the citizens pray for them.
Make quilts/sandwiches/care packages for poor/homeless/downtrodden.
Plant a garden. Learn how to can your own food. Bake some bread.
Meet your neighbors. Tell them how happy you are that they are in your neighborhood. And mean it.
Make someone smile.
I know that you're being sarcastic with your statement, but there are millions of ways to be patriotic...showing respect for freedom and love of country, and not all of them have to do with putting our hands on our hearts and singing. But they DO all have to do with making the community/town/nation/world a better place.

If that is the only way for me to be considered patriotic then count me out. A very close friend of mine is serving 15 months in Iraq and he doesn't feel very patriotic.

Yes that is right every American should be in the military where they will be fed on a regular basis everyone will have a job there will have universal health care and everyone will receive what they need to do their job and live -

Nah.. That's not true.. Sounds like a political comeback to those who blindly support the war and who haven't been and will never go. The people who constantly use the "fight'em there so we don't have to fight'em here" talking point. They seem to think it's ok to send others to fight in a war just as long as they don't have to go. Why else would they be so scared to fight'em here?

your an idiot! what about people ineligible to serve? they cant be patriots? what about armed forces veterans that served in past wars, but not iraq? are they not patriots? all you have to do to be a patriot is love your country and respect the things that protect you and your country!

Fighting for our country is of course patriotic, but so are those fighting political battles back here in the states, the families of these people, and all of those who are supporting them. Good try though!

Yes... I did know this... I get told this from various liberals on a daily basis who don't have the brain power or education to answer my questions or e-mails. I guess it means we a re doing things right.... keep it up!
