You go to the HRDW store and get a can of "100% Pure Silicone spray", you spray it on the gum, the silicone softens the gum, then it makes the gum lose it's "Adhesive properties", the surrounding area of leather now won't let anything stick to it due to the "Silicone" over spray, wipe with a soft cotton rag, re-apply if neccesary but, one shot usually does it. The silicone will NOT stain, and now the leather is protected with a waterproof barrier, that resists any further stains. Who's the "KING" now ?????

Get an ice cube and freeze the gum. Than you should be able to get it off with a plastic scraper of some sort. Use plastic so you don't cut the leather. You may have to use the ice several times while trying to remove it.
Good luck.

Hairspray, or rubbing alcohol work great at removing gum. Also, using ice to freeze the gum and pulling it off may work without damaging the leather.

Freeze it with dry ice and it will flick right off. Wear good gloves to handle the dry ice. Try not flexing the leather until after it warms back up.
