it is a natural human instinct to fear those who are different and to discriminate against them. All people are inherently racist. in my vast experience, I find that the oppressed races are just as racist as the oppressor and often far more vocal about it. As one would expect. We should be aware of this tendency in us as individuals and combat it all the time. The west is in a dilemma however: it says all people are equal then says all cultures are different and precious - the trouble starts when differing cultural practices start offending the neighbours - who is in the right? No clear answer: maybe there are a set of guidelines that show when a cultural practice (like chopping people's heads off or slaughtering sheep in lifts) should maybe be allowed to die out

It is not something "practiced" it just sort of happens. When I was younger I never understood racism and I thought it was the ugliest trait a person could have. Now that I have lived in situations where I have had to deal with certain things, I would have to admit that I am pretty racist. I am not proud of it and I wish I could change it. Every time I try something happens to re-enforce the way that I feel.

Whether we want to admit it or not a touch of racism is in us all. And it will take time to cure.
