The fact that you own land is a myth. Try not paying your land taxes for a while and see what happens. Thats why I smile when ever someone tells me they own a house or anything else of great material value. The goverment allows you to call yourself and act like an "owner" as long as you pay taxes. Once you stop paying they can legally take it from you. Free country ....my butt.lol

The clause that allowed for succession from the Union for the state of Texas has expired. Even if the clause had not expired the US would have never allowed Texas to leave the union. There is far too much money involved.

As an individual you could not have done this anyway, but you can sell your land and move to another country.

its secede - and only states can do it - you can simply revoke your citizenship

BTW - archkarat

The Civil War DID NOT MAKE secession illegal.

Secession is outlined in the Constitution as a viable and legal way for a state to remove its support from the current government.

What the southern states did was legal - Lincoln illegally forced these states militarily back nto the union and used appointed military governors to direct the legislatures to reverse the secessions.

It wasn't a black white issue - wasn't about the slavery - no matter how much the libs try to say so.

The Civil War was about state rights.

Lincoln trampled all over the Constitution in the goal of preserving a Union that over 1/3 of the population no longer supported.

Here is one way.

Form a army.
Train arm and equip that army.
Declare your independacen and fight a war.

If you win then you will have successfully seceded from the union.

Please know that you will need no less than 2,000,000 soldiers and be willing to lose most of them. OTOH, form your smaller army fight a guilla war and hope the MSN works in your favor so people get tired of fighting and then you win with relatively little cost.

With many people in this country all you may have to do is threten a fight and then they will give you what you wnat.

I wouldn't try to discourage it. Just getting away from the spoiled and sheltered little children in adult bodies out here in Ecotopia, California would be a great benefit. They live in a fairy tale la-la land and their kind are helping destroy the whole country. Federal funding comes from the people, like all funding. Texans are probably paying more than their share of "federal funding" so they would come out gaining if they weren't paying funds going to deficit states.

Texas is the only state in the Union afforded that option. If I'm not mistaken, they can leave the Union and become 5 independent states.

You, however, are not the state. So you're kinda SOL.

You own land in Texas and you want to succeed? Work hard, live beneath your means, seize opportunites and you'll succeed. After all, this is the USA ;-)

Write a Declaration of Inpedendence, send it to the White House, and wait for the army to show up. If you can beat them, you win. Call yourself The Democratic Republic of Democracy.

I believe the word you're looking for is "secede". Without knowing that, your odds of success are somewhat limited.
