Never being able to talk, I like hearing sounds of nature and someones heartbeat, and my spouse breathing, I don't talk much anyway so I and everyone else wouldn't be missing much.

I'd say never be able to talk again. Mainly because there are many forms of communication. If I were unable to hear I realize that I would still be able to communicate but I wouldn't be able to talk clearly because I wouldn't have the ability to hear myself.

I was an HHA once and the instructors at the agency said losing one's hearing was the worst thing that could happen because it totally alienates you.
My mother when she was ill for almost ten years lost her voice along the way, so she was able to hear people like the nurses and caregivers and family talking about her. They talked about her like she wasn't even in the room. I would think that losing the ability speak would be bad when you can't even defend yourself or ask for what you need, what you want, and what's uncomfortable for you. She was at the mercy of others.

I would go a little nuts with both of them so I think it would be hearing because my brothers never shut up!!! they are always screaming and I hate that, but then again I would never hear music or t.v. I choose talking. I could always do sign language. I already know how.

Never being able to talk, since I could still communicate through sign language. And I'd go crazy if I couldn't hear music!

Interesting question and hard to answer. I love love love to talk but I would really hate to not be able to hear the radio, tv, my son, people around me. I would be lost so If I would have to choose I would choose to never talk again
