Yes, I like to cover food to keep it from splattering the inside of the microwave.
I think it is just rude when people are so un-caring that they will splatter the entire inside of your microwave, just so they can heat their meatball sub without going through the trouble of covering it with a paper towel.... Some people are just way too lazy!

Some foods can't be covered. Just let it splatter. Microwave ovens are easy to clean.

I wouldn't just go on a cleaning spree in the woman's house but what I would do is gradually get it cleaned up without her realizing that is what you are doing. After each meal clean up the meal mess and then also choose one or two of the other messes like the juice stains and clean them along with it. Every once in a while when you get a bottle out of the fridge take a wet wipe and clean a little bit of the fridge mess until on the surface everything looks clean. If it is gradual I don't think she will get insulted. Then once everything looks clean, one afternoon when you have the house to yourself for a little while go ahead and do the deep cleaning and sanitizing and nobody will know the difference. They may just notice that it smells a lot fresher and you can just say you felt like mopping :)

sometimes cover but most of the time i let it splatter. when i wash dishes and am wiping down the countertops, i just wipe out the microwave too. that way the splatter doesnt get to out of control.

I let it splatter - I just wiped out the old radar range today as a mater of fact - some wierd stuff crusted up in there

Cover it up, because if you don't you end up having to clean that microwave up.

well i cover my stuff y would u just let crap flyall ova the microwave jus leavin u a bigger mess to clean up then..well my friend doesnt they let food fly all ova the kitchen..they call themselves the trailor park kids cuz they have all diffrent sorts of animals that wonder their kitchen jus though i would share huuuuuuuuuuh!

cover it, it's fast and easy and cleaning the microwave sucks. a paper towel works wonders

I cover it because cleaning your microwave is disgusting.
And it'll smell like some weird buttery/hot dog smell.
Which is not appetizing.
