The term "starter wife" is really so depressing, as it implies "built in obsolescence of the marriage" that you know ahead of time that will be getting a divorce before you even start to hate each other! Its like admitting defeat before starting the war.

Ideally, the starter wife should also be the ending wife!

A starter wife is usually the first wife, and is the one who builds her husband to what he is today. For instance, my husband and I married young. I finished college before he did, so I put my career on hold to wait for him. I helped him finish college. He's now the major bread winner in our 2 person family, and he always will be. Usually, the starter wife gets dumped around 40 and left for a younger woman.

Men suck. And, if my husband tried that s**t, well... I know places to hide the body:)

A starter wife is a women who was married, and now divorced. Now she has to start from square one to find love again. It' snot easy sometimes, but that's basically what a starter wife is. begining everything anew once she is no longer married.

Your first wife, obviously.

It is a cynical way of saying that young marriages rarely last.
