What about (d) Walk the 5 miles back into town to find a service station? Which is what I would do in that situation, because unfortunately I do not own a jack (although, I really should start carrying one around).
Otherwise, I would (a) call my fiance, but only so he can drop off his jack for me to use. He wouldn't be the one fixing the tire, because he works two jobs, and 9 times out of 10 would have to get back to work.
What are you trying to prove with this question?

Change it yourself, definitely. I had a friend whose parents flatly refused to teach her to change a tire because "That's what we have AAA for!" Idiotic. It's much safer to know how to change your own than to sit around waiting for someone else to come help you.
Granted, there are situations in which it's better to call in the professionals--busy highways, more damage than just a flat, etc.--but with your average flat tire, everyone should be able to fix it on their own.

C.
It is important for EVERYONE to know the basics of car mantinance, theres a chance that if one gets a flat or the car overheats in a remote location, they might not get a phone signal, and they might not be able to get help nearby.
But if the woman doesn't know how to change a tire, i would pick B, because the mechanics will probably get there quicker, and it would be better to leave it in the hands of a professional, or there is a chance that her boyfriend doesn't know how to change a tire either.

Not only do I think it should be C...the few times I have had a flat I did C save for one time when the car I was driving was a friend's. I was actually taking it to get new tires for him since he worked odd hours and got a flat on the way and could not get the spare out of the trunk (the bolt was rusted shut). Had to call another friend who brought a toolbox of stuff, we had to saw through the stupid bolt, got the spare out and the SPARE was flat.
Told that buddy NEVER AGAIN would I do a favor like that again for him. rofl.

Why wouldn't you change it yourself? It'd be a lot safer anyway than sitting on the side of a highway alone. If that wasn't possible, then I'd probably call a friend, since I don't have AAA.

If she knows how to change tires than the answer would be (c). If not and she's a member of AAA, then (b). If she don't know how to change the tire and don't have AAA membership AND has a boyfriend, than (a). If she don't know how to change her tire and has neither a boyfriend nor a AAA membership than she has other options. ;-)

Depends on the road! NO ONE should change a tire on a busy street regardless of gender if they can avoid it! Hundreds of people are killed every year because they exit their vehicle to perform routine maintenance on a highway!
Emergency roadside companies are trained to assess risk and will tow your vehicle to another location in order to change the tire if necessary!
Safety has nothing to do with competence!
P.S I am a female who can change her tire and has also rebuilt engines an tranny's- oh and I work for AAA :)

Before I had my stroke, my answer would automatically be c-change it myself. Since then, it would be b-call AAA. I hate having to rely on others but now that I have to, I try to keep people around me that are reliable.
