The last three weeks do seem the longest, try and stick it out. Your baby would probably be fine, but pregnancy is 40 weeks for a reason. I know it's hard though. Find a distraction to keep you going. Have you packed your hospital bag? Set up the nursery? Do something for yourself and SLEEP a LOT :-D Good luck hun!!

Well we are in the same boat it's sinking lol........I'm 5'3 and was 100 lbs or so b4 pregnancy this lil guy has consumed me but the only thing I'm doing is walking and swimming I do a few squats to help backache but it hasn't done any thing for me yet!! I'm still closed as of yesterday at my weekly appt I figure I can tough it out remember when you were only like 20 weeks and you thought then you'd never get to where you are now lol!! I am not going to try to do anything to induce besides sex and the other things I mentioned I'm not fond of the idea that I made him come out I want it to be natural...BTW I'm not a candidate for medical induction either due to the fact that I'm trying for vbac and there is too much risk associated with it !! Anyway hun just thought I'd let ya know you are not alone !!

I know that the last thing you want to hear right now is to wait it out. I've known the misery of being huge and pregnant, and I'm so sorry that you have to go through that now. I'll be going through it yet again here pretty soon. But really, I know you are miserable, but you should be thinking of your baby right now. Your body will go into labor when it's best for the baby---and no sooner---which is natural and best. If you try to induce labor, your baby may not be ready. Three weeks is forever right now, but three weeks is also a long time in fetal development and growth--especially at that stage. Please wait until your baby is ready. It will come sooner than you think.

My daughter was 3 weeks early and although very healthy, she has been susceptible to virus since birth. Three different Doctors have told me that it is because she was early. The reason pregnancy is supposed to last 40 weeks is to get your baby ready for the world. My little girl is 16 and still gets viruses.

Please just do what ever it takes to stay pregnant until he is ready to come out.

If you still just want to have this baby you need to have a meal of green salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing and a very spicy meal of your choice. Then you should scrub your kitchen floor and your bathroom on your hands and if your body and baby are ready you will go into labor.

This is something that women in my family and all of our friends have done and in the last 10 years it worked 13 out of 16 times.

Good luck!

I was 37 weeks and my water broke on Sunday.
If you had asked me on Saturday if I thought I was going to go into labour, I would've said no.
What did I do on Saturday? We went grocery shopping which meant a lot of walking, and I can say that sex does help without really saying HOW I know that, can't I? I also made a list of things I needed to do, blah blah blah. Thinking I wasn't going to go into labour helped I think.
PS: I miss being pregnant already. Seriously, enjoy it. You are never ready to have the baby...if I could go back to 37 weeks, I would, just to feel him moving and getting to sleep at night. You'll miss it, too.

I completely understand your reasons for wanting to do so, however... I know a NICU doctor who says you really need to see the pregnancy to full term when possible because every extra day makes a difference in the health of the baby after it's born. If you are really determined to do it, I have heard that spicy foods are a way to do it, and there is supposed to be a certain herbal tea that helps, though I don't know what it is exactly. A health store like GNC might be able to help you with that.

I recently read that gardening and squatting can help. Careful not to over exert yourself. I plan to do some gardening when I get to 37 weeks. :) I'm only on 34 right now.

Sweetie, you really don't want to induce labor. You've only got three weeks left to help your baby bulk up and face the world. Save this precious time for him.

Try sitting on a birthing ball. This can help bring the baby down, and may help stimulate your cervix. You can get one at walmart in the sports department fairly cheap. Just roll your hips around on it. I sat in front of the tv on mine... You can also try parsley tea. Just take dried parsley, boil it, strain and drink. (I would recommend researching this further for yourself just because you shouldn't just take my word for it, but I did use both of these things and had my son at 38 1/2 weeks) Good Luck, I hope you "pop" soon! :)
