Did you believe there was a monster hiding under your bed or in your closet?

Heck Yeah!
It was under my bed and if I got up while everyone else was asleep it would bite off my toes (or so my mean big sister said because she was in charge of making my breakfast and she liked to sleep in late). Of course the monster was only there on saturday mornings when my mom had to go to work early. My sister said that was because my mom had some kind of secret repellent that made the monster stay away but when she was gone my 5-year-old toes weren't safe.
Damn my sis was mean. she even told me Santa got shot the year before so there would be no toys for me that year under the tree.
Hmmm..... Maybe I need to see a shrink behind that crap??!!!!?? J/K!

My monsters were usually in the closet or outside my bedroom window; there was too much stuff packed under my bed for them to hide there!

My bed was really high off the floor so I used to leap onto the bed from the doorway so I didn't have to stand next to it. And I wouldn't sleep with any body parts out of the covers! Very traumatic, I've been in therapy for years. lol

Yeah. I used to make my mom check everynight in the closet to make sure there wasn't a monster in it.

At our house, it was the Toe Man. We believed that at night the Toe Man would wait for us to get out of bed and then........our imaginations would run wild thinking what the Toe Man might do. Luckily, I still have all ten of my toes...beautifully pampered and polished!

More so under the bed. Maybe that's why, as an adult, I have the drawers with underbed storage. (Much harder to hide with those under there!)
