You can want to play piano like a concert pianist all you want, and could probably figure out how to play chopsticks on your own - but acting is a skill like learning to play an instrument. YOU are the instrument.
If you're serious, and want to be a solidly talented actor, you'll need to study. Look into method acting like Stanislavsky, Strasberg and Meisner. Not that people don't have natural talent - but natural talent can be unstable and so you need good training to create a solid foundation for yourself to spring off of. Emotions can't always be called up at will, unless you're trained in how to do it properly.
For film, you'll have to move to LA. To get an agent, you'll have to be involved with the theatre community out there, have acting experience under your belt for a resume, and sometimes they scout the acting school productions for new talent.
Read 'Acting Is Everything' by Judy Kerr, it goes into what you need to know about making it in LA.
Good Luck.

Innate talent is a START. Even the best actors need an objective eye for coaching. I know some people will tell you that natural talent is enough, but I wouldn't trust someone who said that. If you want to play a wide variety of roles, you will need to work with a good voice/speech teacher (Everyone has some type of regional dialect, there is a standard speech sound that is the most desirable).
There are acting techniques you can learn that will be your tools when you are not "feeling" a scene.
Training is a good thing because: it will expose you to a support system of other artists, keep you working and improving your craft, and help you make contacts.

No, your inner talent is enough. Once everyone sees how great you are you will instantly become the biggest star in history. O.K. why does no one have respect for the craft or profession? I say don't even bother taking the classes. To even ask a question like that shows a) you know absolutely nothing about acting b) you have absolutely no common sense. Becoming a successful actor is the most difficult thing in the world to do. People devote their lives to it. You don't "join" movies. You should join a religious cult and harass pedestrians. Maybe one day you'll harass an agent and you'll get signed.

HAHA. Babe, you need to develop talent. There is more to acting than what comes naturally. Ther are people that are naturally talented, study the art for years, are phenomenal, and still don't get into movies. When you audition most likely going up against seasoned actors (AKA trained actors who have spent a lot of time and money to make themselves better), and if you want to stand out and be better than them, you need to have the training too.

Take the classes. You don't have to go nuts - and in truth taking acting classes won't promise you a career but there is a certian amount of jargon, networking and technique you need to know. Even child actors take classes. Also, You make friends in the classes - people who can share with your casting calls - etc. You also need to get some parts - audition for commercials, plays etc in your home town and get some credits.

I'm a film maker, you should know that for acting, talent and learning it are like two wings for flight. no bird can fly with only one wing. if you don't have two these wings,i can help you with this help: practice more and more, it means HARD WORK. it is the biggest thing that any successful person has. but remember that if you have talent it is easy to learn acting but if you don't have talent it is too hard to take talent, so you will become great with trying and working on your favorite.don't forget that you began it by wanting.

As an actor, you do NOT determine, where in the industry you will work. The Talent Agent and Casting Directors are the professionals, not the actor.
You will work wherever you book a role. The Agent may think you are better suited for Industrials and not theater.

Acting classes are always beneficial. Even if you don't "learn" anything from the class you should at least have met some people to add into your network and potentially have some more material for your auditioning repetoire.

I think it depends if you have an agent, because if you do, the one's that cost $ will give you free ones. If you are in backround, that no. Even if you are inner talented you still need practice. GOOD LUCK
