It's helpful but not necessary. One can go to a club and observe others. Dance classes just break the steps down or demonstrate professional dancing. It would be even more helpful to do both. It's up to you

In order to improve dancing, it is necessary to have (a) new input and (b) feedback. Classes provide both, and in addition, give you some structure and keep you organized.

You can of course watch a video and ask your buddy for feedback, but it's not quite the same. Chances are, your buddy knows no more than you do.

I don't think its necessary but it does make it a lot easier. Teachers give you constructive criticism and can help you get connections if you plan on getting a career in dance. They can get you into competitions and get you more publicity too.

it would be good because if you dont, and you practice by yourslef, the moves get better gradually. If your ina dance class though someone can pinpoint excatly what your doing incorrect. Also instead of practicing you can expand the amount of moves you can do instead of repeatidly practing the same couple of moves over and over again. you can learn many new moves every year
