Usually, when a woman misses a period it's a sign of pregnancy... However, this is not always true because some women are irregular. The reason they ask you when your last menstral period was when you get pregnant is to determine how far along you are. The only way to know for sure is to take a test! Other then that... You're just guessing!
Hope this answers your question!
Best Wishes!

I don't understand what you mean ? technically if you are pregnant you don't get your period. Many women experience implantation bleeding and many also bleed (but not technically their period) which oftne conincides with the days their period is due (but not always). The start of a pregnancy is calculated from day 1 of your LMP (last menstrual period) concpetion commonly occurs approx 14 days after that and then implantation another 14 days (approx). If you are pregnant you will get a home pregnancy test positive around the time your period is due (some tests say they will pick it up earlier but I found waiting was the best way because then if it was negative I always wondered if i did it too early) and some women say a HPT didn't give them a positive until they were 6 or more weeks pregnant. I hope this answers ur question

Very few people still get their periods when they're pregnant. A pregnancy test is the only way to "know". If you want to be on the safe side though - just treat your body as if you were pregnant and that way you won't make any mistakes with your baby's health.
Take a test to be sure if you think you are.

doctors and nurses will base their information about a growing fetus on the mom's menstrual cycle. So if you are planning a pregnancy (or just think that one is likely in your future) start keeping track of the first day of your cycle, which is the first day of your period each month.
You still have to miss a period before a pregnancy test is accurate, but at least you should know when that is.

If you have had unprotected sex, and your next period is unusually light or does not last as long as it normally does, take a Home Pregnancy Test. There are a lot of females who have their periods throughout their pregnancy. No, I'm not kidding. It has happened to me and a few of my friends. They are lighter and don't last the same length of time, but they are there and on a fairly regular basis.
If you are unsure and you had unprotected sex, wait six to eight-weeks afterwards and do a home pregnanncy test. But remember, the home pregnancy tests are not always 100% accurate. If your not sure if your pregnant or not, have a blood test done. You usually figure your last "Normal" period as your last. If at anytime you have unusually lighter periods (In flow or length) get a Home Pregnancy Test or have your doctor do a blood test.
Good luck.

When I was pregnant with my first son I got my period the first month that I was pregnant, the second month I missed my period and I took a test and I was pregnant. There is no way to really tell with out taking a test.

you can't tell if you are pregnant without a pregnancy test. some women who have been pregnant many times get a pretty good idea of how it feels so they get used to being able to tell. once you've missed a period by a few days, if you want to be sure asap, you have to take a pregnancy test.

I think you are referring to the period you have before you concieve. This is how they calculate your due date.
Last Menstrual Period - 14 October
add seven days = 21 Oct
subtract three months = 21 July

There's no way to be 100% certain without a pregnancy test.

Well you can either wait and see if you get your period or you can start to get signs, such as tender, swollen breasts, fatigue, implantation bleeding, nausea or vomiting, increased sensitivity to odors, abdominal bloating, frequent urination....
