No. The Yankees have no interest in the ineffective Ohka and the vastly over priced/paid Frank Thomas.

I'm a Jays fan, but the Yankees would have to be idiots to make this deal.
Frank Thomas is a year or two from the end of his career, and there's no guarantee that he's turned any corner. His numbers still have a long way to go before they approach the value of his contract. As for Ohka, he's bad enough to have been removed from the rotation in favor of Josh Towers.
Wang, on the other hand, is a #2 guy on most staffs, and pitching is the most valued commodity in baseball. The loss of Thomas would hurt, but would be more than made up by the addition of Wang to go with Halladay and Burnett.
I'd love to see it, but I don't think Brian Cashman is that dumb and/or crazy.

No. That's quite possibly the worst trade that I have ever seen. Wang is good and has talent. Ohka does not. His ERA is over 5 and his WHIP is over 1.5. Those numbers are terrible. He also allows a lot of home runs. Frank Thomas is old. He'll retire in the next two years. It's not like he's gonna hit 30 HRs per year or anything.

Why? The Yanks need pitching, Frank is going to retire in a year or two and Ohka just got released.
I agree Wang is no better than a #3 but, thats an awful trade.
I wish you were the GM of the Yankees, because I hate them.

Wang, the "#3 starter at best" as you called him, is the ACE of the Yankee staff. He won 19 games last year. And he's won four of his last five. Was BRILLIANT last night. Implying that Ohka is anywhere NEAR the quality of Wang is just plain silly.
I love Frank Thomas. He's had a HOF career in my opinion. But the last thing the Yankees need is another guy at the end of his career.
In short, if you were my GM and you proposed this trade for the Yankees, I'd fire you.

if the yankees don't win today....or if someone other than pettite gets the win....then wang will lead the team w/ 5 wins and the closest pitchers would be pettite and clippard w/ 3 wins....wang is leading the team in wins and will lead the team for a while....but i hate the yankees so i'd like to see wang even go to boston...but the red sox can hit wang well so if he goes to the blue jays that won't be a big deal...and ohka is pretty bad so i'm sure we can grill the yanks there

That would be an assinine trade even for Steinbrenner,Cashman and the Yankees. Wang is too good of a starting pitcher,he's young and gives them innings. A team can always find a slugger (Yanks have plenty of those) but good pitching is hard to come by.

First, Wang is a number #3 starter? He was considered the #1 starter for the Yankees all spring training and I would put him up against any #1 starter any team with the way he's pitching.
I would like to see this trade happen, then be woken up with a heavy object repeatedly hitting me in the head!!!!

As much as I am so disappointed by Wang this season, Brian Cashman really needs to consider giving Wang the rest of this season to redeem himself. The worst that can happen is to not re-sign him after his contract expires this season. On a personal note, I think Wang should be able to recover and come back a lot stronger after the All-Star break.
