i won't do anything until i'm 37 weeks and full term so don't worry! i'm curious, though- i know all the old wives tales to help progress labor (sex, spicy foods, walking, etc.) but i just had a doc appointment and they told me i was not dialated at ALL (my first son was born at 38 weeks and i was dilated 1 cm by 35 weeks with him) so this baby won't come for at least 2 more weeks most likely. is there a way to actually BRING ON the dilation of the cervix? just curious- i'm not an idiot trying to induce early labor (:

Let the doctor induce dilation or labor or whatever else you wish for. If you want to give birth try a warm bath and a lot of walking

you say the bub wont come for atleast 2wks, you will be 37 and a half weeks - you arent supposed to do that stuff til u are atleast 38wks the bub isnt meant to come out until 40 weeks approx.
Why would you want a bub to come out and maybe have to go to the special care ward cos its jaundice or has more severe problems?
there are things you can do such as drink raspberry leaf tea, sex, orgasm, walk, eat hot food curries etc, pressure points, and more but not til 38wks.
You may not be dilated until you are in labour you dont have to be dilated weeks before you can become dilated and have the bub very soon after.
the sex, spicy foods and walking arent wives tales--> semen has prostoglandins which soften cervix, this is a medical fact, curries get bowel moving which is something that naturally happens when in labour so if you bring it on it can help, and walking makes the head engage or get into position for birth, sex when you orgasm can cause you to contract as it produces oxytocin another medical fact not wives tale.
You shouldnt be thinking about this yet anyway
focus on having a healthy bub
I'm being induced wednesday as my OB wants me to as the baby is getting to big and can cause problems for me and bub if I am not induced she will be 3 days early.

Let nature take its course. Even if a baby is born at 37 weeks, it isnt guaranteed that their lungs are mature. I had my baby at 38 weeks and it was a scheduled C section and I had to undergo a amnio just to check and make sure that the lungs were mature.

i replaced into dialated at 5 for a million a million/2 week and saved thining with my 0.33 with first it replaced into in common terms 3 cm for 2 weeks! so because it is known jsut anticipate the contractions to be extra consistent or greater, your checklist could desire to circulate over that with you. a great form of strolling will help

Second etc. moms don't always dilateahead of time, like first timers do.
My husband and I tried everything with our kids, and both were overdue, and had to be induced.
