or was it overthrown by by the law in question? In other words, if the president usurps certain powers and authorities at the expense of constitional rights is that legal ground for dismantling the government or has a change of government already taken place in a subtle coup that crept in below the radar? If a coup has taken place, what is the appropriate course of action?

According to the Declaration of Independence, a government gets permission to govern from the people. So, I guess so. Of course, the Confederacy tried that and it didn't work, so I'm not sure I'd try it. I would try to find people who agree with me and get them to run for office. That would be a legal, and much less bloody, solution.

The most powerful and most legal manner would be to have the state legislatures vote for secession, and force the government to reckon with their actions that go against the Constitution.

It will be overthrown in the next elections...and sanity will come back...but the corporations that control us will always be there pushing...I like the idea of secession and using legal means to at least make a point...just to see what happens...if the government is not for "we the people" and says that corporations, unions and any other special group is a "person"...it's time to want a clarification
