I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla. Today the check engine light came on and the code reader read 1 code "P2716 Press Cntrl Solenoid D Electrical". The ppl at the autozone don't know what that means. They said that maybe I didn't tighten my gas cap. (Hmmm) I tried that and the light is still on. I am pretty sure that the light neds to be reset, right? But still, I don't think that was what the code was for. Does anyone know where I can find out, or better yet know what it means?

This is referencing the transmission pressure control solenoid. Take it to a reputable transmission shop for diagnosis.

did he point out a cylinder misfire or what? there's no such code: "cylinder 6 has failed". the code is in all probability a P0306. which could be a misfire code, which will properly be gasoline, air (compression), or a spark suitable subject. i'm a mechanic and that i could advise you get a 2nd opinion! an addition i could get cylinder laek down attempt achieved, which brings the cylinder #6 to proper lifeless midsection and seals the valves. the attempt will end if the valves are sealing or inf the piston rings are worn. even have them placed a splash of oil interior the cylinder the 2nd time around to confirm in rings are worn.
